Strength Analysis of an Engine Hoist
For this project, my group was provided with a SolidWorks assembly of an engine hoist that was meant to perform to specific specifications. The objective of this project was to perform a strength analysis of the hoist - both by hand and through SolidWorks FEA simulation - and then redesign the hoist so that it met these criteria and specifications. The hoist was designed to have an arm that was meant to operate at three different lengths with each length having a designed max load. The arm also was able to rotate around a pin allowing for the arm to operate at various angles.

After going through the process of analyzing the model and redesigning the required parts, we wrote up a technical report summarizing the project. The report went over the project objective, the process of analysis, conclusions from analysis, process of redesign, and overall conclusions. This final report can be found below.
